No seriously tho.. why are you so cool? Is there some secret to it or something, do you like Idk eat a boiled egg before you sleep?? O.o
I listen to this ceaselessly.
No but seriously, aww, thanks :) I dunno, I just write the stuff that I think someone should write.
Actually, referring to my last post, ‘normal people in a world of specials’ seems to be a recurring theme in my stories. Luke is a human surrounded by talented elves and super-special warlocks. Marigold is a romance novel character who’s been thrown into a world of steampunk spies. Random’s stories tend to have him having to save the world by accident, of course. The West End/Broadway musical that my sister and I want to write is about the only girl unable to sing in a musical fairytale kingdom.
I mean I have more stories than that, and I definitely have the “special person with massive crippling expectations” (like that fantasy novella, or Season, or even Bzlaabnieni’s perspective in my novels with Luke), but I guess it’s good that I write the story that’s important to me. Although, to be honest, both are.
I really think stories in which everyone is special and important except the main character are so important.
I don’t want the Chosen One. I don’t want special heroes.
I want a squib in a world of wizards. A human in a world of superbly adapted aliens. An idiot surrounded by geniuses.
It is so important to have characters who think that they are nothing, that they are failures compared to other people.
I’m always so proud when twitch manages to accomplish a non-obvious goal. Like grinding for victory road on Cinnibar for an entire day, or deleting unnecessary moves just now.
Idea: make one of those 10 hour long song video things except in each version make it very slightly, imperceptibly different, until by the end of the 10 hours it is a distorted thing of evil and the pits of hell have opened in your computer.
